Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen will join a host of stars for a planned tribute to late singer Whitney Houston on American TV network CBS.
Houston died last February after being found unconscious in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel two days after making her last public appearance, a live duet with singer Kelly Price, and just 24-hours before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where she was due to perform.
The show, titled The Grammy’s Will Go On: A Death in the Family, will focus on the efforts made by show producers and performers to cope with the shock news while cameras beamed the Grammy’s live across the globe.
Swift and Springsteen will be joined onscreen by Katy Perry, LL Cool J, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh and Bonnie Raitt, with each of them sharing their thoughts on Houston’s sudden death at the age of 48.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles the following night.
An inquest into the singer’s death ruled that she had died from ‘accidental drowning,’ although cocaine abuse and a heart condition were also thought to be contributing factors.
